    Microbiology testing for “in natura”, semi-processed and processed food according to the parameters established by ANVISA (Resolution 12/2001) which include:

    Microscopic analysis for packaged foods according to the requirements of ANVISA Resolution 14/2014 that establishes limits for extraneous matter and includes analysis of solids/sand for all foods. Inclusion of histological analysis to ensure the authenticity of raw materials in formulated foods is recommended. Methodology employed is based on the “Official Methods of AOAC International”.


    Analyses necessary to fulfill the requirements of ANVISA Resolution 360/2003 on nutritional labelling of manufactured foods: energy, carbohydrates, proteins, total fats, saturated fats, trans-fatty acids, dietary fiber and sodium determination. All analyses are performed according to the “Official Methods of AOAC International”


    MYCOTOXINS: Analysis of mycotoxin depends on the food category. Mycotoxin in industrialized foods and raw materials is offered according to the limits established by ANVISA Resolution 7/2011: Aflatoxin (B1 + B2 + G1 + G2), Aflatoxin M1, Ochratoxin A (OTA), Deoxynivalenol (DON), Fumonisins (FB1 + FB2) and Zearalenone (ZON).


    Analysis of gluten and allergens in food, ingredients, food additives and raw materials as well as in equipments or tools used in the manufacturing process according to the requirements of Resolution 26/2015 and the Law 10674/2003 is offered.
    Detection of allergens (wheat, rye, barley, oats, eggs, peanuts, soy, milk, dried fruits among others) is performed using immunochemical and imunoenzimatic methods.


    Analysis of packaged and “in natura” food containing GMs above 1% must be labeled in compliance to Decree 4680/03. Companies wishing to label their products as “GM-free” are also requested to perform analysis. Detection and quantification of GMs in soya bean, corn and other plants or specific events are also available on request. Methods employed are ELISA, conventional and real-time PCR.


    According to ANVISA Resolution 19/2010, companies that produce foods with protein content between 0.1 and 5.0% are required to perform phenylalanine, protein and moisture analyses.
    Analysis for packaged food, as well as food “in natura” containing GMOs above 1% must be labeled in compliance to Decree 4680/03. These analyses are also requested by companies wishing to label that their products as “GMO-free”. Methods employed are Elisa, conventional PCR and real-time PCR. Detection and Quantification of GMOs in soyabean and corn. Detection and Quantification for other plants and/or specific events are also available upon request.


    Monitoring of water supply according to the following parameters: residual chlorine, color, odor, pH, turbidity, coliforms, heterotrophic bacteria and E. coli based on the “Compedium of Methods for the Microbiological Examination of Foods” and “Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater”.

RDC 12/ 2001 (ANVISA) – Establishes the microbiological standards for industrial foods.

RDC 14/2014 (ANVISA) – Establishes the standards for extraneous matter, fragment counts and filth examination harmful to human health applied to foods and beverages.

Portaria 146/1996 (MAPA) – Establishes the technical regulations of identity and quality of dairy products including physicochemical and microbiological standards; used as a reference in dairy products reports along with the RDC 12/2001.

RDC 359/2003 (ANVISA) – Defines reference values for portions of processed food and beverages for labelling purposes.

RDC 360/2003 (ANVISA) – Technical regulation on mandatory nutrition labelling of processed foods and beverages in general.

Decree 4680/2003 and Normative Instruction 1/2004 – Ensures the right to the consumer on the information of processed foods containing genetically modified organism (GMOs) above 1%.

RDC No. 7/2011 (ANVISA) – Establishes analysis of mycotoxins in raw materials and foods ready for the consumer according to the upper limit.

Resolution 19/2010 (ANVISA) – Establishes the obligation for companies to inform ANVISA the quantification of phenylalanine, protein and moisture in foods for the table of phenylalanine content.

Law 13305/2016 – Rules on the labeling of foods containing lactose to ensure that people with lactose intolerance are informed of the presence of this sugar.
